BIO

Dr. Gökçe Bulgan is a Counseling Psychologist in private practice and an Adjunct Associate Professor at MEF University, Graduate School of Social Sciences. She has over 18 years of theoretical and applied experience in the field of psychology and more than 10,000 hours of psychotherapy experience with clients. Gökçe received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Boğaziçi University and her Ph.D. degree in Counseling Psychology from Purdue University. After providing counseling and training services at several institutions in the United States, she founded her private practice, in which she has provided counseling, leadership consulting, and corporate training services in English and Turkish since 2013. Gökçe also works as a psychology expert and consultant in mental health and well-being startups based in Australia, Germany, and Sri Lanka. She is a Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute certified teacher on mindfulness-based emotional intelligence and leadership. Gökçe is the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications on psychological well-being and work-life issues and the co-author of the book “Happiness 2.0” [Elma Publications, in Turkish] – an evidence-based guide to improving one’s mental and emotional well-being.

SEMINAR DESCRIPTION

The aim of this interactive seminar is to provide participants with evidence-based tools to improve our relationship with ourselves for a happier and healthier life. The topics covered will include the following:

  • Our personal definition of happiness and well-being
  • Research findings on happiness
  • Our basic psychological needs and how to fulfill them
  • Factors that contribute to our relationship with ourselves
  • Evidence-based practices to strengthen our relationship with ourselves
